A pen-and-ink drawing originally created as a Zen Bow cover illustration, this is a graphic presentation of Zen Master Chao Chou’s famous reply to a monk’s question about ultimate reality: “The oak (or cypress) tree in the garden.” Many patient hours of stipple dots and strokes went into the making of this drawing, a meditative and repetitive process.
