Gingko Robe 7
The gingko leaves, symbols of longetivity, were originally scanned directly then turned into a repeating robe pattern. The young woman, representing the ephemeral aspect of life, was painted in the style of Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblock prints. I wanted to create a certain meditative quality and that is expressed in the posture of the hands, similar to "kinhin" or walking zazen.
