A tribute to Rene Magritte, one of the greatest symbolist/ surrealist artists of all time. I wanted to reinterpret his famous painting of apples raining down on a city street. In 1968, I began to substitute an applecore for the "I" in Inglis when signing my artwork. This practice evolved into the golden logo seen here. When creating this painting, I envisioned the applecores slowly descending in front of the golden crane curtain in the backcground. This idea came to full fruition in the flash animation sequence on the site home page which can be seen if you click on Inglis at the bottom of this page.
